Angelina Jolie’s engagement ring made its debut at the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art, and the world oohed and aahed at its beauty. The elegant engagement ring weighs in at a total of 16 carats, with the center emerald-cut diamond weighing approximately 7 carats.  Brad Pitt was very involved in designing the engagement ring, which features an ideal-cut center stone selected to flatter Jolie’s long fingers.

Emerald cut diamonds have fewer facets so they’re don’t have the sparkle of other cuts, but that also means that they need to be the best quality … the light returned from a diamond is pure and white. Since Brad and Angelina always choose elements that are deeply symbolic and emotional, it’s no doubt that Brad chose a platinum setting to symbolize a love that will never fade.  The Art Deco styling provides a timeless look of elegance.
